At the conference “Encountering Perpetrators of Mass Killings, Political Violence and Genocide”, organized by University of Winchester, 1-3 September 2015, Dumitru Lăcătușu presented the communication „The Self-Portrait of the Romanian Communist Perpetrators in Autobiographical Texts”.
On 15th of May 2015, Mihai Burcea participated to the national conference „Provocări istorice: spații, idei, interpretări doctorale” (Faculty of History, UNiversity of Bucharest) with the presentation „Interbrigadiști români în anchetele de partid ale CC al PMR (1949 – 1965)”/ Romanian members of the International Brigades in party investigations (1949 – 1965).
At the 2015 Conference of the Society for Romanian Studies, the project team (Adrian Cioroianu, Corina Doboș, Mihai Burcea, Dumitru Lăcătușu), together with prof. Vladimir Tismăneanu (University of Maryland, USA) participated to the round table Joining an outlawed party: the risks and temptations of becoming communist in Romania before 1945.
Mihai Burcea, Dumitru Lăcătușu and Corina Doboș presented the main objectives and the milestones of our project at Radio France International, during the cultural show Art Cultura. The engaging discussion was moderated by Dan Pârvu.
The book Comuniștii înainte de comunism. Procese și condamnări ale ilegaliștilor din România, Editura Universității din București, 2014 was launched at the headquarters of the Dignitas Foundation (Bucharest), in the presence of the editor Adrian Cioroianu, and of other 4 authors that contributed to the volume.
